  • Aprašymas: The black-and-white footage by Ernst Hirsch shows famous views of Dresden by the painter Bernardo Bellotto, known as Canaletto. He juxtaposes the historical images with current footage from 1962 and documents the redesign of Dresden's city center, which was destroyed during the air raids on Dresden in 1945, especially the section from Postplatz to the Palace of Culture on Wilsdruffer Strasse, then Ernst-Thälmann-Strasse.
    This film was digitized as part of the model project "Sicherung des audiovisuellen Erbes in Sachsen" (Securing Audiovisual Heritage in Saxony) of the Film Association of Saxony (2018) in cooperation with: Hirsch Film Filmproduktion, Sächsische Landesbibliothek - Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek, funded by: Saxon State Ministry for Science and Art.
